WHERE TO STAY: The Anza Hotel, Calabasas
Room Block at The Anza Hotel
Address: 23627 Calabasas Rd, Calabasas CA 91302

There are so many options when it comes to Malibu and the surrounding areas, and we’ve secured a room block at the beautiful Anza Hotel in Calabasas for our guests. The hotel offered a discounted rate between September 16th – September 20th, and said they are happy to accommodate those guests wishing to stay longer. With the discount code, you will also receive complimentary parking.
This is also where the shuttle is going to do drop-off and pick-up, so that makes it our number 1 recommendation!
*For out-of-town guests, please note that Calabasas isn’t near the beach. This is great to avoid summertime traffic, but can make traveling to some of the typical destinations a bit tricker. Please visit our California 101 page for some tips on how to make the most of your trip, with or without a car!
Surrounding Areas
Besides the Anza in Calabasas, there are many other hotel and airbnb options since well, it’s LA! Definitely enjoy your California vacation and stay where you like, but keep in mind that LA traffic is legendary for a reason – and even then it doesn’t come close to trying to get back into Santa Monica from Malibu on a summer afternoon! Please just keep in mind the shuttle leaves from Calabasas, so please pad in plenty of time to get there from wherever you decide to stay. Our trick is to add 90 minutes to whatever we estimate.
Other options that are near Calabasas include the areas of Agoura Hills and Westlake. If you’d like to stay closer to the beach, there are a few airbnb rentals and hotels in Malibu, and then more as you get closer to Santa Monica.
TRAVEL
We recommend flying into Los Angeles or Burbank. Below are details on each of the different airports. Even though they’re similar distance keep in mind LAX is massive – so BUR may end up being easier and quicker to navigate!
For those of you driving – just try to leave early and take the fastest route on Google Maps based on traffic! Good luck.
Flying into Los Angeles
LAX is 28 miles from the Anza in Calabasas. The route from LAX to the hotel (honestly, to anywhere really) can have bad traffic based on the time of day, so please keep that in mind!
Once you arrive at the airport, you have the option to take an Uber/Lyft or rent a car. There are many rental car options available from LAX – for more information, please click here.
Please click here for more information on how to get an Uber at LAX.
Please click here for more information on how to get a Lyft at LAX.
Pro-tip: this is a very large airport, so we recommend reading these directions beforehand!
Flying into Burbank
BUR is 22 miles from the Anza in Calabasas. There might be less flights available to this location simply because it is so much smaller. Fun fact – Travis’ first job in LA at Crane Aerospace was located right by this airport!
Once you arrive in Burbank, you have similar options to use Uber/Lyft or rent a car.

For information on ride-share services at Burbank, please click here.

Of course with any of this, if you run into trouble or have any further questions please reach out to us here! Travis especially has navigated both these airports many times!

All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride!
Malibu Solstice Vineyards is a private micro-vineyard, located in the Santa Monica Mountains and surrounded by sweeping ocean views. That privacy comes at a cost – which means the roads leading up there are pretty steep! We want all of our guests to be safe, so we ask that everyone please ride the shuttles to and from the venue. Directions from google maps do not lead drivers to the correct address, and too many ride-share drivers on the narrow roads could be hazardous. In fact – our venue requires shuttles for parties of this size.
Private Transportation
Please note there is no guest parking available at the venue. If you miss the shuttle, please arrange for a private car instead of driving yourself. If you wish to drive, please let us know beforehand and we are happy to try to make it work!
If you want to schedule a private car, we ask that you please do not call Uber or Lyft at the recommendation of our venue. They do not have a good history of finding the vineyard up in the mountains. Our recommendation is to contact Swoop for a professional car beforehand – the same all-star team that is providing the shuttles for the entire wedding. They’re well-versed in traveling these roads and they have smaller car options available. Please first let us know here, and we’ll put you in contact with Swoop. Of course Los Angeles has many great options when it comes to private transportation so feel free to choose your own. Our only suggestion would only be to make sure they understand the roads or have driven in this area before.
Questions
If you have any questions, please reach out to us here and we’re happy to chat further! We want all our guests to be happy and safe.
ATTIRE: Cocktail
We do want to note the entire event is outdoors and on grass and gravel, so ladies leave those stilettos at home and look for something more like a flat or block heel. Even though it will likely be warm during the day, it might get chilly up in the mountains once the sun sets. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for later in the evening.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
COVID
We’ve downsized our guest list from our original plan to ensure everyone feels safe. The entire venue is entirely outdoors, and there is ample space for social distancing on the grounds. If our guests would like to get tested before or after the event, Travis’ sister Katie works for Curative, and they have many easy, mouth-swab testing option locations in the Los Angeles area. If you’d like to visit one, please click here.
In the event that you feel unsafe to attend, we completely understand. Please RSVP no and we’ll be sure to celebrate together when we can!
If we need to cancel or postpone due to changing COVID restrictions, we will notify all guests ASAP. Thank you for your understanding!
CAN I BRING A DATE?
We love that you’re in love (or like)! Unfortunately, we’ve already made the difficult decision to cut down our guest list to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety during the ongoing COVID crisis. We can only accommodate those who are formally invited on the wedding invitation, and invites are not transferrable to other parties.
FOOD? DRINK?
Don’t worry, we’re going to feed you! There will be passed appetizers and a two-course plated meal. There will also be a full bar during the event – another reason it’s great to take the shuttles! Of course, at the end of the night, we will all get to enjoy some wedding cake! If you have any dietary restrictions, please reach out here.
WHERE ARE YOU REGISTERED?
For guests wishing to purchase a gift, our registry can be found here.
WHAT IS THERE TO DO?
So glad you asked! Because we value our own opinion so much, we put together this page with our favorite things to do in the Malibu/Los Angeles area.
WEATHER
Fingers crossed it’s a sunny day! Based on average temperatures and predictions, we can be pretty certain it’ll be a warm one with little to no cloud cover – average high is 75 degrees, and average low is 62 degrees. Please make sure to drink water during the day and keep this in mind when choosing an ensemble. At night up in the mountains it could get cool and windy, so we recommend grabbing a light jacket in case you get chilly.
