Our Story

We figured the best way to describe the evolution of our relationship was through ski trips. From sliding down Summit Run up in Big Bear to cruising Rendezvous Bowl in Jackson Hole, you can really see that each year we were more convinced we were in this thing for the long haul. Check out our past 8 ski season highlights with some fun relationship milestones built-in!

SKI SEASON: 2013-2014

Number of Days: 1

Locations: Snow Summit, Big Bear Lake, California.

What Happened?: Not much. Shout out to Caitlin Lawler for taking a lesson with Andrea this trip!

SKI SEASON: 2014 – 2015

Number of Days: 7

Locations: Snow Summit, Big Bear Lake, California.

What Happened?: Even though Andrea learned how to ski in Utah as a kid, Travis was kind enough to go through a lengthy reintroduction process with her. At least he got really really good at skiing backward.

SKI SEASON: 2015 – 2016

Number of Days: 17

Locations: Snow Summit, Big Bear Lake, California.

Mammoth Mountain Resort, Mammoth Lakes, California.

What Happened?: We went to Snow Summit SO. MANY. TIMES. Travis got Andrea down more than the Family Side, and now the world was her oyster (kinda). This was the first year they went to Mammoth – to celebrate Andrea’s 25th Birthday! Fun Fact – Olympic Gold Medalist Chloe Kim has the same Birthday as Andrea, so there were two bdays on the mountain that year!

SKI SEASON: 2016 – 2017

Number of Days: 16

Locations: Snow Summit, Big Bear Lake, California.

Mammoth Mountain Resort, Mammoth Lakes, California.

What Happened?: This was the year our love of Mammoth really grew! We only went to Snow Summit twice and spent the rest of the season making the 7+ hour (each way) drive up to Mammoth. This season Travis made the big move down to San Diego where we shared a studio apartment for 5 months. That’s how we knew we were going to make it.

SKI SEASON: 2017 – 2018

Number of Days: 14

Locations: Mammoth Mountain Resort, Mammoth Lakes, California.

What Happened?: Another year, another winter spent driving 14+ hours a weekend to shred Mammoth. When we weren’t spending our time passing semis on the 395, we also went to Alaska with Andrea’s parents for the first time and took a trip to Hawaii!

SKI SEASON: 2018 – 2019

Number of Days: 20

Locations: Mammoth Mountain Resort, Mammoth Lakes, California.

Winter Park Resort, Winter Park, Colorado.

Snowbird, Utah.

Alta, Utah.

Deer Valley Ski Resort, Park City, Utah.

Squaw Valley Ski Resort, Olympic Valley, California.

Alpine Meadows Ski Resort, Alpine Meadows, California.

What Happened?: This was our first big ski trip year! After going to Colorado before Christmas, we did a tour through Utah (visiting Andrea’s old stomping grounds), and then finished up in Tahoe for her 28th. A highlight of our ski season this year was extending it through July and spending the 4th up at Mammoth!

SKI SEASON: 2019 – 2020

Number of Days: 19

Locations: Mammoth Mountain Resort, Mammoth Lakes, California.

Snowbird, Utah.

Alta, Utah.

Ajax Mountain, Aspen, Colorado.

Aspen Highlands, Aspen, Colorado.

Snowmass, Aspen, Colorado.

Vail Ski Resort, Vail, Colorado.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

What Happened?: After hiking Aspen and Vail in the summer, we knew we had to go back and ski there in the winter! We obviously had to go back to Utah, and then decided to see what all the fuss was about in Jackson. There we discovered a new favorite food – a warm brown sugar butter waffle from Corbet’s Cabin at the top of Rendezvous Bowl. After we made it back to CA, we got engaged on March 14th at Andrea’s favorite beach, Windansea in La Jolla! Fun fact about the date we got engaged – it’s the same day Andrea’s parents first met back in the 80’s! Travis didn’t know this when proposed, but some things just seem meant to be.

SKI SEASON: 2020 – 2021

Number of Days: 7+

Locations: Steamboat Resort, Steamboat Spring, Colorado.

Snowbird, Utah (planned!)

What Happened?: And that brings us to today! The highlight of this year will be seeing all of you in September in Malibu. But first we’re hoping to make it back to Utah and celebrate Andrea’s 30th in Snowbird.
